8000 QwikTxts and Counting!

April 1st, 2010 stats snapshot

Today I happened to be QwikTxt’ing my wife when I noticed that my text message was the 8000th message sent via QwikTxt. Pretty cool, huh?!

Since we sent our first text message on October 24, 2009, 297 persons have used QwikTxt to send 8000 texts during the 160 days between then and now. That comes out to 50 text messages sent per day. More recently, during the past 46 days, that average is 74.48 texts/day.

As much as many web applications (e.g Twitter) and gadgets (e.g. the Flip Video camera) are succeeding due to their simplicity, QwikTxt finds itself in the same category. If you need to quickly send a text from the web to someone’s mobile device, QwikTxt fits the bill.

Thanks to everyone for helping us reach this milestone. I’m looking forward to the next 8000 QwikTxts.

Another Canadian QwikTxt user sent in a request for us to add Canadian cell provider Rogers Wireless to our form. We’re now glad to welcome PCS Rogers to QwikTxt.

Bell CanadaThis past weekend we had a request to add Bell Canada to our list of wireless providers. Bell is Canada’s largest telephone and telecommunications company.

Qwest and Cincinnati Bell added to Providers, Plus Stats!

I continue to be pleasantly surprised by how many people are using QwikTxt. As of this post, 135 people have tried us out with many using our form on multiple occasions. Much as QwikTxt meets my need for one-click text messaging, my guess is that everyone else is finding it handy for the same reasons.

New Providers: Qwest and Cincinnati Bell Added
As per a couple of user requests, this past week I’ve added two new wireless providers to the QwikTxt form:

We’ve Got Stats
In addition, I’ve also added a stats page which shows how QwikTxt is growing in popularity. We started last week with less than 400 texts sent, and as of this writing, we’re now at 726 texts sent.

Glad you guys are getting some use out of QwikTxt. Be sure to share your story on how you use QwikTxt.

Orange Mobile (UK) Added to QwikTxt

QwikTxt now works with Orange!

QwikTxt now works with Orange!

This morning I had an email sitting in my inbox requesting that we add Orange Mobile to QwikTxt. I was able to add support for Orange; however, as I don’t know anyone on the Orange Mobile network, I need you to test it out, and let us know the results.
